mornings; recycling on Thursday mornings. Our contract states that trash and recycling should be placed curbside by 6:00 AM on the pickup morning.

Over the years, our service has generally been efficient and consistent.  We have been assured that the "wrinkles have been ironed out.”  If you have concerns, please contact AAA/Rainbow directly rather than a member of the board.  The number is (703) 803-1376.

As you are aware, we have been experiencing sporadic service from AAA/Rainbow for the past two months.  The community is frustrated, and, after work by the board, our service should now be consistent.

The continuing rise in fuel costs is affecting everyone, professionally and personally.  In an effort to avoid increasing trash removal fees, AAA/Rainbow has restructured routes.  Driver loads have been increased, resulting in more frequent trips to the dump often making trucks late.  They have also had several

vehicles in repair.

The board has been assured that AAA/Rainbow will arrive in the Commons

no later than
9:00 – 10:00 AM each Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  You are reminded you can put your trash out after 9:00 PM the evening before a pick-up.  Trash will be picked up on Tuesday and Friday

On June 14, several co-owners from Fairlington Commons attended a special meeting of the Fairlington Citizens Association to discuss issues of concern with members of the Arlington County Police Department.  Several members of the Third District

Team were present and answered questions about safety and what to do in potentially dangerous situations.

The chief advice offered by the police officers was to look out for each other and pay

attention to what is happening in the community.  Only then can we begin to address problems like the vandalism on the lower Utah lot as well as other disturbances.  If you are interested in participating in a revitalized community watch program, contact board member Hugh Baumgardner.

Don’t make us look like this!  Garbage may be brought out between 9:00PM and 6:00AM before collections.
