BURGLARY, 9/30/2008, 2900 block of N. Glebe Rd. Between 5 pm on September 27, and 9 am on September 28, an unknown suspect forcibly entered a garage and stole tools. There are no known suspects. BURGLARY, 9/30/2008, 4300 block of N. Wilson Blvd. Between 5 pm on September 26, and 8 am on September 29, an unknown suspect broke into an office suite and stole four laptops. There is no suspect description. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/29/2008, 4200 block of S. Campbell Ave. Between 5 pm on September 25, and 10 am on September 26, an unknown suspect broke into two vehicles. Several items were stolen. There are no known suspects. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/29/2008, 2000 block of S. Columbia Pike Between 9:30 pm on September 25, and 9 am on September 26, an unknown suspect broke into two vehicles and stole several items. Army Navy Dr. Between 2 pm on September 26, and 5 pm on September 27, three vehicles were broken into at a parking garage. Several items were taken. There are no known suspects. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/29/2008, 4900 block of S. Chesterfield Rd. Between 7 pm and 8 pm on September 19, three vehicles were broken into at a parking garage. Several items were stolen. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 9/29/2008, 5800 block of S. 5th St. On September 27 between 11 am and 4 pm, an unknown suspect kicked the door in and stole several items from a residence. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 9/29/2008, 700 block of N. Oakland St. Between 7:30 pm on September 27, and 2 pm on September 29, an unknown subject entered a residence through a window and stole several items. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY-ARREST, 9/29/2008, 1300 block of S. Columbus St. On September 27 at 4 pm, two suspects forcibly broke into an abandoned house. Police found them in the house. Jose Sorto, 26, of Arlington, and Elder Lopez, 38, of Alexandria, were charged with Burglary. They were held without bond. ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST, 9/29/2008, 2200 block of S. Nelson St. On September 27 at 8 pm, a woman found her husband and friend intoxicated in their residence. They got into an argument. The husband left the residence, but returned later. He grabbed a knife from the kitchen and swung it near his wife. Mario Benitez-Castro, 28, of Arlington, was charged with Attempted Malicious Wounding. He was held without bond. ROBBERY-ARREST, 9/29/2008, 3200 block of S. 3rd St. On September 26 at 7:30 pm, a man was talking on his cell phone. Two juveniles knocked him over and the phone. The suspects were located by police and detained. One suspect was released to his mother and the other was sent to the juvenile detention center. DISORDERLY CONDUCT-ARREST, 9/29/2008, 3300 block of N. Wilson Blvd On September 28 at 1 am, police responded to a motel for a fight and destruction of property. They located a subject who became disorderly. Martin Willie Cox, 64, was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Possession of Marijuana. He was held without bond. DISORDERLY CONDUCT-ARREST, 9/29/2008, 3300 block of N. Wilson Blvd On September 27 at 2 pm, police were investigating a traffic accident when one subject became disorderly. The subject attempted to leave the scene and almost ran over officers. Hailemichael Nemaiam Teklai, 26, of Washington DC, was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. He was held without bond. DISCHARGING FIREARM-ARREST, 9/29/2008, 2300 block of N. 11th St On September 28 at 10 pm, police responded for a report of gunfire. Officers determined a fight occurred, and one suspect fired a shotgun into an apartment complex courtyard. Frank E. Covington, 39, of Arlington, was charged with Discharging a Firearm in a Public Place and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Jacqueline Day, 44, of Arlington, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Firearm with Cocaine. They were both held without bond. MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 9/29/2008, 2600 block of N. Pershing Dr At 6 pm on September 28, two men were eating at a restaurant, when they were approached by two unknown men. The strangers asked the victim and his cousin if they would pay for their meal. The victim replied, “No” and the two suspects displayed knives. The victim was cut on the arm. The two suspects were white Hispanic men. They wore all black clothing. MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 9/29/2008, 4200 block of N. Wilson Blvd On September 28 at 7:30 pm, a fight over a football game broke out at a bar/restaurant. A man was knocked to the ground and kicked in the head. He was taken to the hospital with a skull fracture. The suspect was a white male wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a white and blue hat. BURGLARY, 9/26/2008, 3900 block of S. 14th Street Between 11 am on September 19, and 6 pm on September 22, an unknown subject stole items from a residence. There is no suspect description. MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 9/26/2008, 900 block of N. Stuart Street On September 25 at 10 pm, two men began arguing on the metro. One man struck the other man in the face with a bottle. The suspect is described as an African American male in his early 20’s. He was last seen wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans and sneakers. ASSAULT BY MOB, 9/26/2008, 800 block of W.O.D. Bike Trail On September 24 at 9:30 pm, a group of self identified gang members attacked two men walking down the bike trail. Officers responded to the scene and located four suspects. Two suspects were adults and two suspects were juveniles. Vicente Velasquez, 22, of Arlington, Mario Rivas-Carballo, 21, of Chesterfield, were both charged with Assault by Mob, Street Gang Participation, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. They were held without bond. The two juveniles received petitions and were taken to the juvenile detention facility. ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY, 9/26/2008, 5200 block of S. 8th Road. Between 9 pm on September 22, and 11 pm on September 23, an unknown suspect broke into a vehicle. The suspect tampered with the ignition. There are no known suspects. BURGLARY, 9/25/2008, 4600 S. 2nd Street Between 11 am and 6 pm on September 24, an unknown subject entered a residence but did not take anything. A window was found left open. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 9/25/2008, 1600 block of N. Kent Street Between 7 pm on September 23, and 8:30 am on September 24, an unknown suspect stole three laptop computers from an office site. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 9/25/2008, 800 block of N. Oakland Street On September 23 at 10 pm, copper piping was stolen from the construction site and surveillance video captured the incident. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 9/25/2008, 4500 block of N. 17th Street Between 6 pm on September 23, and 8 am on September 24, an unknown subject entered a residence through a sliding glass door and stole jewelry. There is no suspect description. INDECENT EXPOSURE, 9/25/2008, 1300 block of S. Quincy Street On September 24 at 5:30 pm, a woman saw a man parked in front of an elementary school. She witnessed him exposing himself. A suspect has been named. ARSON, 9/25/2008, 1700 block of N. Lynn Street On September 24 at 9 am, a man lit a fire in a stairwell. The Fire Marshal investigated and charged Grant Sleeper, 53, of no fixed address, with violating an ordinance about illegally kindling a fire. He was held on a $3,500 secure bond. ASSAULT AND BATTERY, 9/25/2008, 1600 block of S. 28th Street At 11:30 am on September 23, a man was assaulted at a soccer field. The victim believes the assault was because of his sexual orientation. Mauricio Argueta Urias, 53, of Alexandria, was charged with Assault and Battery. He was released on his own recognizance. BURGLARY, 9/24/2008, 1200 block of S. Irving Street. Between 7:30 pm on September 22, and 8:30 am on September 23, a bicycle was stolen from a shed. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 9/24/2008, 2400 block of N. Taylor Street. On September 23 between 9:30 am and 5:30 pm, someone stole jewelry a bedroom. The owner suspects the cleaning company. ASSAULT BY MOB, 9/24/2008, 4500 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. On September 23 at 10 am, a man was assaulted by three suspects. He believes them to be MS-13 gang members. The three suspects are all described as white Hispanic males, 25 to 30 years of age. Two suspects wear last seen wearing a white t-shirt and tan pants with a white belt. The third suspect was wearing a white tank top and plaid shorts with a white belt. SUSPICIOUS DEATH, 9/24/2008, 2000 block of Columbia Pike. On September 24 at 12:30 am, officers responded to an apartment to check the welfare of the owner. Sarah Tredop, 19, of Arlington, was found inside deceased from gunshot wounds. The death may be linked to the incident above. The investigation is ongoing. ATTEMPTED MURDER, 9/24/2008, I-395 N at Glebe Road. On September 23 at 8 pm, two Alexandria Police officers made traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle shot one police officer and fled the scene. The vehicle was located shortly afterward on I-395 N at Boundary Channel. Robert K. Hui, 22, of Arlington, was found inside the vehicle deceased from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation is ongoing. ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY AUTO, 9/23/2008, 2400 block of S. Shirlington Road Between September 21 at 9 pm, and September 22 at 4 am, an unknown suspect punched a hole a vehicle door and tampered with the ignition to the vehicle. There is no suspect description. ATTEMPTED GRAND LARCENY AUTO, 9/23/2008, 2900 block of S. 19th Street Between 8 am on September 15, and 7 pm on September 22, an unknown suspect attempted to steal truck. The owner found the ignition had been tampered with. No items missing. There is no suspect description. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/23/2008, 800 block of S. Army Navy Drive Between 6 pm and 9 pm on September 22, an unknown suspect broke into 4 vehicles in a parking garage. Various items were stolen. There is no suspect description. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 9/23/2008, 700 block of S. Greenbrier Street On September 22 at 3:30 pm, a man returned home and a found a window open. No items were missing. There is no suspect description. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 9/23/2008, 1000 block of N. Patrick Henry Drive Between 4 pm on September 19, and 8 am on September 22, an unknown suspect broke into a construction trailer. Several tools were stolen. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 9/23/2008, 2500 block of N. Pollard Street Between 8 am on September 19, and 8:30 am on September 22, an unknown suspect entered home under construction, and took copper pipes and fittings. There is no suspect description. ATTEMPTED LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/22/2008, 1200 block of S. Fern Street Between 8 pm and 10 pm on September 19, two vehicles were broken into. The owner of one of the vehicles saw two men sitting inside and both suspects fled on foot. The suspects are described as a white male and an African American male in their 20’s. Both vehicles were tampered with, but no items were stolen. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/22/2008, 800 block of N. Kentucky Street Between 10 pm on September 17, and 6 pm on September 19, an unknown suspect broke into two vehicles and stole GPS units. There is no suspect description. Arlington Mill Drive Between 6 pm on September 14, and 2:30 pm on September 21, and unknown subject broke into two vehicles and took several items. There is no suspect description. LARCENY, 9/22/2008, 1300 block of N. Courthouse Road On September 19 at 10 am, an unknown subject stole several sets of elevator doors from a loading dock. There is no suspect description. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 9/22/2008, 5400 block of S. 8th Place On September 20 at 4:30 am, an unknown subject tried to break into a residence by breaking a window with a large object. The residents were awakened by the noise, and the suspect fled. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 9/22/2008, 2100 block of N. Stafford Street Between 11 am and 2 pm on September 20, an unknown subject entered an apartment and stole several items. There is no suspect description. MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 9/22/2008, 300 block of N. George Mason Drive On September 20 at 12:30 am, a group of men were drinking at an apartment. An argument ensued and a suspect struck another suspect in the head with a beer bottle. ROBBERY, 9/22/2008, 800 block of S. Frederick Street On September 20 at 2:30 pm, a man was walking home when two men started following him. The suspects approached the victim from behind and demanded his wallet. He was attacked by one suspect a brick while the other tried to choke him. One suspect was apprehended. Geovanni Enrique Alvarado Juarez, 27, of no fixed address, was charged with Robbery. He is being held without bond. The second suspect was a white Hispanic male, wearing blue jeans, a black long sleeved shirt, and white Puma shoes. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/18/2008, 2700 and 2800 blocks of N. Jefferson Street. Between 5 pm on September 16, and 8 am on September 17, and unknown subject broke into three vehicles. Various items were stolen. There is no suspect description. FALSE POLICE REPORT, 9/18/2008, 1600 block of N. George Mason Drive. On September 17 at 1 am, police responded to the hospital for a man reporting that he had been stabbed. The man stated that a female he knew stabbed him. During the course of investigation, officers found that the man had actually been injured in a different jurisdiction when he was attempting to buy drugs. Melvin Foster, 46, of Alexandria, was charged with Filing a False Police Report; he was released on a summons. MISSLE INTO AN OCCUPIED DWELLING, 9/18/2008, 4200 block of S. 32nd Street. On September 16 at 9:30 pm, a was man shooting a BB gun in a backyard. A neighboring house was struck. Oscar Mejia, 18, of Arlington, was charged with Discharging a Missile into an Occupied Dwelling. He was released on a $2,000 unsecured bond. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/17/2008, 2700 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive. Between 4:30 pm on September 15, and 7:30 am on September 16, an unknown subject broke into six vehicles. Windows were broken on most vehicles to gain entry. Various electronic items were stolen. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY-ARREST, 9/17/2008, 2700 block of S. Lang Street. On September 16 at 11:30 pm, police responded to a school for multiple alarm alerts. When officers arrived, they apprehended one subject leaving the school with items. A second subject then fled the school and was apprehended by a police K9 unit. Douglas Bradshaw, 21, of no fixed address, was charged with Burglary, Possession of Burglarious Tools, and Attempted Grand Larceny. The second suspect will be charged when he is medically cleared. COMMERICAL BURGLARY, 9/16/2008, 2200 block of S. Crystal Drive. Between 5:30 pm on September 12, and 6:30 am on September 15, an unknown person forced entry into an office space and stole a laptop. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 9/16/2008, 700 block of S. Florida Street. On September 13 at 5:30 pm, a woman returned to her home and noticed a significant amount of money missing from her bedroom. She suspects her ex-husband of the theft. TRESPASSING/DISORDERLY CONDUCT-ARREST, 9/16/2008, 1200 block of S. Clark Street. At 1:30 pm on September 15, a large group of people organized a protest rally without a permit. When meditation between the business and the protesters did not reach a resolution, the protestors inside the business were asked to leave. When they refused, the eight people were arrested. The following people were charged with Trespassing and released on a summons by the magistrate: Randy Alexander, 39, of Memphis, TN; Daniese McMullin-Powell, 62, of Newark, DE; Scott Heinzmann, 47, of Livonia, MI; Nancy Navarro, 35, of El Paso, TX; Eileen Sable, 58, of Philadelphia, PA; Michael; McCarty, 43, of Boulder, CO; Joyce Combs, 47, of West Allis, WI; Kelly Casillas, 38, of Baxter Spring, KS. Two other people caused a disruption outside the business and were also detained. Nancy Salandra, 43, of Philadelphia, PA, and Stephen Gold, 66, of Philadelphia, PA, were charged with Disorderly Conduct and were released on summons. ASSAULT AND BATTERY-ARREST, 9/16/2008, 5800 block of S. Arlington Boulevard. On September 14 at 10:30 pm, police responded for a fight and car accident. After investigation, it was discovered that a group of three people attacked a woman and her boyfriend. The group consisted of the woman’s ex-boyfriend, his juvenile niece, and an unknown male. Juan Hernandez-Meja, 21, of Falls Church, was charged with Assault and Battery, Hit and Run, and Violation of a Learner’s Permit. He was held on $2,000 bond. The juvenile will be arrested at a later time. BANK ROBBERY, 9/16/2008, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. On September 15 at 10 am, an unknown male gave a note to a bank employee demanding money. Once he received cash, he fled on foot. The suspect is described as an African American male in his 30’s, 5’10” with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, long sleeve black shirt, and dark pants. He also had a mustache. MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 9/16/2008, 1500 block of N. Quinn Street. At 11 pm on September 14, a subject approached a woman from behind while she was walking. He stabbed her in the left arm with an unknown object and fled the scene. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male, 18-22 years old, medium build, about 180 1lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, and long pants. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/15/2008, 800 block of S. Army Navy Drive. Between 6 am on September 12, and 6: 45 pm on September 13, four vehicles within the same area were broken into. Several items were taken. There is no suspect description. LARECNY FROM AUTO-ARREST, 9/15/2008, 1100 block of S. Joyce Street. On September 13 at 11 am, two men were stopped by police for trespassing in a private parking garage. After investigating, it was discovered that a vehicle had been broken into and a GPS unit was missing. Anthony Green, 20, of Washington D.C., was charged with Possession of Burglarious Tools and Trespassing. He is being held on a $3,500 secured bond. Antoine Richardson, 19, of Washington D.C., was charged with Trespassing and is being held on a $2,500 secured bond. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 9/15/2008, 4200 block of N. Wilson Boulevard. On September 12 at 10 am, a woman witnessed surveillance footage showing a former employee enter a restaurant while it was closed. The suspect attempted to steal alcohol but was confronted by another employee. BURGLARY, 9/15/2008, 2100 block of N. Culpeper Street. Between 9 pm on September 11, and 7 am on September 12, a woman returned to her home and noticed items missing from her bedroom. Police spoke to three other women who have access to the victim’s home who denied taking anything. There were no signs of forced entry. BURGLARY, 9/15/2008, 900 block of N. Pollard Street. Between 10 pm on September 11, and 4:30 pm on September 12, an unknown subject entered a residence and moved items around, but did not steal anything. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY, 9/15/2008, 1000 block of N. Kensington Street. At 6:30 am on September 14, a woman heard noise from her bathroom window. She saw a man outside her window and thought he was attempting to enter. The man fled after being seen. The suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s-30’s; slim build, with medium length black hair. He was last seen wearing a grey long sleeve button up dress shirt. ROBBERY, 9/15/2008, 1800 block of N. Quinn Street. On September 14 at 5:30 am, a man was approached by an unknown male. The suspect asked the victim for a cigarette. While the victim was handing the suspect a cigarette, another subject assaulted the victim from behind. Several items were stolen from the victim, and he suffered various injuries. The first suspect is described as an African American male, 6’1”, thin build. There is no description on the second suspect. ARMED ROBBERY, 9/15/2008, 4100 block of N. 3rd Road. On September 13 at 2 am, a man was walking to his apartment. He was approached by two unknown men at his doorway. One man approached the victim from behind, and placed a knife the victim’s neck demanding money. The second suspect reached into the victim’s pocket and took cash. The first suspect was a Hispanic male with a medium build. He was last seen wearing oversize jeans, a white polo shirt with blue stripes, and a black ski mask. The second suspect was not seen. The victim had a minor laceration on his neck. MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST, 9/15/2008, 600 block of N. Glebe Road. On September 13 at 2:30 pm, a man and woman had a disagreement in a parking garage. A group of people walking through the garage witnessed the fight. When the witnesses attempted to assist the female, the man pulled out a knife and threatened them with it. When the female victim stepped between the two parties, the suspect cut her superficially with the knife. The witnesses then detained the suspect until police arrived. Benjamin Elliott, 29, of Washington D.C., was charged with Malicious Wounding and Attempted Malicious Wounding. He was held no bond. ASSAULT BY MOB-ARREST, 9/15/2008, 900 block of S. Wakefield Street. On September 14 at 2 am, three suspects assaulted a victim. Several people witnessed a man lying on the ground as the suspects kicked and beat him. When officers arrived they arrested the three suspects, Christian Perez-Alvarez, 19, of Arlington, VA; Octavio Alvarez-Quiroz, 38, of Arlington; Victor Younes, 22, of Arlington. All three suspects were charged with Felony Assault by Mob and were held without bond. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/11/2008, 4100 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive. Between 6 pm on September 9, and 7 am on September 10, two vehicles were broken into. GPS units were taken. A witness saw two unknown men running away. The first suspect was wearing a teal striped hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The second suspect was wearing a navy blue sweatshirt with jeans. Further descriptors are unknown. BURGLARY, 9/11/2008, 4700 block of N. 21st Street. On September 10 at 8:30 am, an unknown subject broke into an apartment and stole jewelry. There is no suspect description. LARCENY, 9/10/2008, 4800 block of N. Lee Highway. At 1 pm, on September 3, an unknown subject took several Arlington County Fire Department uniforms from a dryer. There are no known suspects. BURGLARY, 9/10/2008, 5500 block of S. Columbia Pike. On September 9 at 6:15 pm, a resident discovered that seven storage units were broken into. There is no suspect description. GRAND LARCENY, 9/9/2008, 3200 block of N. Fairfax Drive. Between 1 pm on September 4, and 6 am on September 8, an unknown person entered a business site and stole copper wire. There is no suspect description. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 9/8/2008, Farlington Neighborhood. Between 6 pm on September 5, and 8 am on September 7, an unknown suspect broke into three vehicles. The person stole two GPS units and a radio. There is no suspect description. ROBBERY, 9/8/2008, 4100 block of N. 3rd Road. On September 5 at 4 am, a man was assaulted in his residence by a subject that was visiting him. The suspect took cash and left the apartment. The suspect is described as an African American male wearing dark gray clothing and a black knit cap. ROBBERY, 9/8/2008, 2100 block of S. Crystal Drive. On September 5 at 12:15 pm, an unknown male entered a bank and gave the teller a note demanding money. He took cash and left the bank on foot. The suspect was an African American male in his 30’s, 6”0”, 250 lbs. He had a shaved head, glasses, and a goatee. He was last seen wearing an oversize gray t-shirt, jeans, and white shoes. BURGLARY, 9/5/2008, 4800 block of N. 26th Street. Between 11 am on August 24, and 5 pm on September 4, an unknown subject pried open a garage door. Several items were taken. There is no suspect description. ROBBERY, 9/5/2008, 4200 block of S. 12th Road. On September 5 at 12 pm, a man was walking to his apartment when an unknown male got out of a car behind him. The victim was hit in the face and his wallet was stolen. The suspect fled the scene in the vehicle. A second male was driving the car. The car was a silver sedan. The suspects were both white Hispanic males. LARCENY FROM AUTO, 9/4/2008, 2900 block of S. 13th Road. Between 7 pm on September 2, and 7 am on September 3, two vehicles were broken into. Radios were stolen from both vehicles. There is no suspect description. EXPOSURE-ARREST, 9/4/2008, 1500 block of S. Crystal Drive. On September 2 at 5 pm, police witnessed a man masturbating in a public restroom. Sam Ulm, 66, of Alexandria, was charged with Obscene Sexual Display and released on a summons. BURGLARY, 9/4/2008, 6600 block of N. Little Falls Road. At 7 pm on September 2, an unknown suspect broke into a vent grill and entered a school cafeteria storage room. There are no known suspects. BURGLARY, 9/4/2008, 6000 block of N. 8th Place. On September 3 at 5 pm, a woman was asleep and heard noise in her apartment. She woke up to find an unknown man trying to leave through a window. DEATH INVESTIGATION, 8/14/2008, 5500 block of Columbia Pike On August 13 at 9:30 am, police were contacted to check on the welfare of a woman who missed a meeting at work. Police entered the woman’s apartment and found her inside, deceased. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment, and no obvious signs of trauma to the victim. There is no suspect description. ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 7/29/2008, 1600 block of S. 10th Street. On July 28 at 9 pm, a man was walking past a bus stop. Four unknown men were sitting at the bus stop. Two of the men confronted the victim and attempted to forcibly take his belongings. The victim ran away. The suspects were all African American men in their early 20’s, with short hair. The first suspect was 6’1”, with a skinny build, wearing a black tank top and jeans. The suspect was 5’6”, average build, wearing a red t-shirt and jeans. BURGLARY, 7/28/2008, 2400 block of Army Navy Drive. Sometime between 4 pm on July 18, and 2 pm on July 25, an unknown subject broke into a residence and stole jewelry. There is no suspect description. MALICOUS WOUNDING, 7/28/2008, 1300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. On July 26 at 11:30 pm, a male went to a party at a hotel. A group of men unknown to the victim entered the party, and a fight ensued. One suspect took a broken piece of glass and cut the victim’s hand with it. The suspect is described as an African American male in his early 20’s, 5’8”, with a muscular build. The suspect also has shoulder length dreadlocks. ROBBERY-ARREST, 7/28/2008, Wilson Blvd at N. Uhle Street. At 1:40 am on July 26, police responded for a dispute. They determined a man forcibly took money from the hand of a cab driver. The suspect was disorderly and physically fought with officers. Robert Sims, 33, of Arlington, was charged with Robbery and Assault on Police. He was held without bond. ROBBERY-ARREST, 7/28/2008, 4500 block of S. 31st Street. On July 26 at 9:30pm, a group of four African American juveniles assaulted a group of three men. During the assault, a cell phone was taken from one victim. The juveniles were apprehended by police and will be charged. SEXUAL BATTERY-ARREST, 7/28/2008, 4600 block of S. Columbia Pike. At 10:30 pm on July 27, an officer observed a man and a woman walking in the middle of the street. It appeared that they were arguing. His investigation revealed that the intoxicated man had approached the woman and fondled her. The subject was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery. Joel Cabrera-Juarez, 24, of Arlington, was held without bond. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 7/23/2008, 2000 block of N. Kensington St. Between 12 pm on July 19 and 10:30 am on July 23, someone entered four unlocked vehicles and took coins and one satellite radio. LARCENY FROM AUTO, 7/23/2008, 900 block of N. Wayne St. Between 2:30 am and 6 am on July 23, someone took all four wheels and tires off a 2007 Chevrolet Corvette and left the vehicle on cinder blocks. 2 car covers were also stolen. ROBBERY, 7/23/2008, 1100 block of S. Jefferson St. At approximately 11:20 pm on July 23, a 24 year old man was walking home from work when he was grabbed from behind and put in a choke hold by a male subject. A second suspect then took the victim’s wallet and kneed him in the groin. Both suspects then fled to a waiting vehicle driven by a third subject. The suspect was a white male in his early 20’s, 5’10”, 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and khaki shorts. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 7/21/2008, 1700 block of N. Moore Street. Sometime between 6 pm on July 16, and 9 am on July 18, an unknown subject stole a laptop. The suspect is described as an African American male in his 20’s. He was 6’, 220 lbs, and was wearing a dark polo shirt. BURGLARY, 7/21/2008, 4200 block of Lee Highway. Between 10:30 pm on July 17, and 6:40 am on July 18, and unknown subject entered a residence and stole a television. There is no suspect description. ROBBERY, 7/21/2008, 500 block of N. Glebe Road. On July 20 at 2 am, three subjects were hanging out when one refused to give another his cell phone back. Then the suspect pushed the victim. The remaining male tried to intervene, and the suspect hit him over the head with a beer bottle. The suspect is a white Hispanic male in his 20’s, 5’6”. He was last seen wearing dark pants, a long sleeved brown shirt, and a baseball cap. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 7/18/2008, 2100 block of S. Nelson Street. At 3:30 pm on July 17, a realtor called police. She noticed that someone attempted to break into a vacant residence sometime between June 15 and July 17. There are no known suspects. BURGLARY, 7/18/2008, 1700 block of N. Queens Lane. On July 15, between 9:30 am and 8:15 pm, an unknown subject entered an apartment through a window and stole a laptop computer. There is no suspect description. MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 7/18/2008, 4700 block of S. Chesterfield Road. At 8 pm on July 17, a man called police. He stated that he was walking when two unknown males approached him from the bike trail. While the suspects attempted to rob the victim, one suspect stabbed the victim in the leg superficially. The suspects then fled on foot. The suspects are described as two African American males in their late teens. They had on jeans and t-shirts. One shirt was red, the other was blue. FRAUD, 7/17/2008, 300 block of N. Glebe Road. On July 16 at 1 pm, two women approached an elderly female as she was leaving a store. They attempted to get her to give them money for a “winning lottery ticket”. When that attempt confused her, they drove her home. When she took her groceries inside, they followed her. The women took cash from her apartment and left. The suspects are described as white Hispanic females. One was in her 60’s, 5’4”, and the second was 40 years old and heavy set. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 7/17/2008, 5100 block of S, 10th Street. Between 3 pm on July 15 and 9:30 am on July 16, an unknown subject damaged two storage units inside an apartment complex. Items were moved in the units, it is unknown if anything was stolen. There are no known suspects. BURGLARY-ARREST, 7/17/2008, 1600 block of Clarendon Blvd. On July 16 at 2:40 am, a man was seen entering an apartment building, and leaving with a bicycle. Officers located the suspect with the bicycle still in his possession. Robert Eley, 45, of Arlington, was charged with Burglary, Grand Larceny, and Possession of Burglarious Tools. He was held on a $1500 bond. ATTEMPTED ROBBERY-ARREST, 7/17/2008, 100 block of S. Frederick Street. On July 15 at 10:15 pm, a subject flagged down a police officer and stated that two people just tried to rob him while he was walking. The suspects were apprehended. SEXUAL BATTERY, 7/15/2008, 500 block of N. Longfellow Street. On July 19 at 4:45 pm, a woman was walking her dog on a bike trail near Upton Hill Park. Two men who had been drinking in the park approached her. One subject put his hand over her mouth, and groped her, while the second male held a glass bottle as if he would hit her with it. The victim bit the suspect and ran. The suspects are described as white Hispanic males wearing dark clothing. DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES), 7/13/2008, Various Locations. Between 10 pm on July 12 and 8 am on July 13, someone vandalized 6 parked cars including a police cruiser. A dogwood tree and an American flag were also damaged. The vandalism occurred in the 800 block of S. Veitch St., 800 block of S. Barton St., 2500 block of S. 8th St., 2300 block of S. 9th St. and 3000 block of S. 6th St. FELONY HIT AND RUN - ARREST, 7/13/2008, Arlington Blvd. at Washington Blvd. At approximately 3:30 am on July 13, a 2005 Maserati was traveling westbound on Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) at approximately 100 mph when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car crossed the median and the eastbound lanes, struck a guard rail and a tree, and then flipped over multiple times before stopping. The 2 occupants of the vehicle walked away but were later located by officers at Inova Alexandria Hospital. The driver, Michael Yuti Tomdio, 27, of Falls Church, was arrested and charged with Felony Hit and Run. SEXUAL BATTERY - ARREST, 7/13/2008, 900 block of N. Taylor St. At approximately 3:11 am on July 13, two women were walking down the street when a male suspect on a bicycle rode up and groped them. An officer stopped the suspect nearby. William Vasquez Reyes, 26, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery. ROBBERY, 7/13/2008, 2700 block of S. Columbia Pike. At approximately 12:20 am on July 13, a male subject approached a 27 year old man and asked for a dollar. After the victim took out a dollar and offered it to the man, the suspect grabbed the bill and the victim’s wallet and ran off. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 45 years old, 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white Adidas t-shirt with black trim around the collar, black pants and beige Timberland work boots. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY, 7/12/2008, 2900 block of S. 7th St. Between 2 am and 9:30 am on July 12, someone pried open a screen on the porch of a residence. Entry was not made and nothing was taken. ATTEMPTED ROBBERY - ARREST, 7/12/2008, 2200 block of N. 20th St. Between 2:30 am and 2:40 am on July 12, A 26 year old man was walking home when a male subject, who had followed him from a Metro station, physically assaulted him and demanded money. The victim yelled and the suspect took off, taking the victim’s cell phone. Officers stopped the suspect a short distance away. Anthony Pierre Ford, 22, of Arlington, was arrested and charged with Attempted Robbery. BURGLARY, 7/11/2008, 300 block of N. Glebe Rd. Between 10 pm on July 10 and 9:20 am on July 11, someone entered an apartment while the residents were sleeping and took 3 laptop computers, a digital camera, a watch and wallet. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES), 7/11/2008, 5000 and 6000 blocks of N. 22nd St. Between 10:30 pm and 11:56 pm on July 11 someone smashed windows on 4 parked cars and took 3 GPS units and a satellite radio. BRANDISHING A FIREARM, 7/10/2008, 2400 block of S. Lowell Street. On July 8 at 9 pm, a juvenile was riding his bike when an unknown male brandished a firearm at him. The juvenile rode off and alerted an adult. The suspect is described as an older Asian male with a black mustache. He was wearing a long sleeve blue shirt, jeans, and was possibly homeless. BURGLARY, 7/9/2008, 2700 block of S. 9th Street. On July 8, between 8:45 am and 8:30 pm, a subject entered an apartment and stole cash. The suspect is known to the victim. BURGLARY, 7/9/2008, 2000 block of S. Edgewood Street. At 2 am on July 8, a subject entered an unlocked residence and assaulted a man who was asleep. The suspect is known to the victim and warrants are outstanding. ROBBERY, 7/9/2008, 1000 block of S. Nelson Street. On July 8 at 3:30 pm, a subject called the police about a robbery. A man stated that he was attacked by an unknown male who stole medicine from him. The suspect was described as an African American male in his late 30’s. She ran from the suspect, and stated that he held a knife to her. She freed herself and called police. The suspect is described as an African American male in his 30’s. He was 6’, 175 lbs, with a full beard and mustache, trimmed short. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, dark jeans, and black shoes. MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 7/7/2008, 2500 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive. At midnight on July 7, a man was walking when an object was thrown at his head. He was seriously injured and was transported to the hospital. The object may have been thrown form a moving vehicle. MALICIOUS WOUNDING-ARREST, 7/7/2008, 400 block of N. George Mason Drive. On July 4 at 11:30 pm, a man approached a second male and tried to take his beer. When the victim refused to hand over the beer, the suspect broke a bottle and stabbed the victim in the arm. The victim was transported to the hospital. Police apprehended the suspect. Leonardo Tista, 22, of Arlington, was charged with Malicious Wounding, and held without bond. ROBBERY, 7/7/2008, 100 block of Chain Bridge Road. At 2:30 pm on July 6, a woman observed an unknown male inside her vehicle. When she confronted the suspect, he pushed her, took her car keys, and fled. The suspect is described as a white Hispanic male, 5’5”, 160 lbs, wearing baggy jeans, a white t-shirt, and a black baseball cap. SEXUAL BATTERY-ARREST, 7/7/2008, 1200 block of S. Eads Street. On July 6 at 5 pm, a woman was walking on a pedestrian walkway when a man approached and grabbed her. Police located the suspect shortly afterward. The owner restrained the suspect until police arrived. Ariunbold Tsolmon, 28, of Falls Church was charged with Possession of Burglarious Tools, Receiving Stolen Property, Tampering with an Automobile, Grand Larceny, Petit Larceny, and Assault and Battery. He was held on $10,000 secured bond. BURGLARY, 7/3/2008, 1200 block of N. Courthouse Road. At 4 am on July 3, a woman awoke to find an unknown male exposing himself in her bedroom. The victim ran out of the apartment calling for help, and the suspect fled past her. Police arrived and found that the suspect had gained entry through her bedroom window. He is described as an African American male, early 20’s, skinny, with hair in a ponytail. He was last seen wearing black jersey shorts and a white tank top. ABDUCTION-ARREST, 7/3/2008, 500 block of S. Garfield Street. On July 3 at 4 am, a woman argued with her boyfriend. He took her 21 month old child and left her apartment without her consent. The woman tried to follow her boyfriend, and saw him assault her child. She ran to a nearby house for assistance, and police were contacted. The child was found at the boyfriend’s residence in need of medical attention. The child was transported to the hospital, and the man was detained. Jeffery Escobar, 19, of Arlington, was charged with Abduction and Felony Child Abuse. He was held without bond. BURGLARY, 7/2/2008, 2200 block of N. Illinois Street. Between 10 am on June 27, and 6:45 pm on July 1, someone broke into a residence and stole items. There are no known suspects. MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 7/2/2008, 500 block of S. Courthouse Road. At 6 pm on July 1, a man was with two female acquaintances in a car. A group of males known to the females, approached the car and attacked the victim. He fled and they chased him. He was stabbed during the fight. Witnesses were present and called the police. The suspects fled and the victim was taken to the hospital. The suspects were last seen in two vehicles with Maryland tags, a silver 4D sedan and a navy 4D sedan. SEXUAL BATTERY, 7/2/2008, 1900 block of S. Kenmore Street.
