WE NEED YOU!!

As you read the items in this newsletter you will realize that the Green needs volunteers for a variety of tasks. It is so easy to be "too busy", or to assume that "someone else" will volunteer. But remember that to your neighbor, you are "someone else." Please lend a hand. With the exception of the Board vacancies, ownership of a unit is not required in order to participate -- you just have to care about your community.

BOARD NOTES

Vacancies - Two board members are in the process of selling their homes in Fairlington Green and will be moving out of the community. Therefore, we are looking for volunteers who are interested in serving on the Board. If you are interested please contact any Board member.

Next Meeting - The next Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 19th in the Fairlington Community Center at 7:00pm. All are welcome to attend. If you want to be placed on the agenda please contact Sher Opal, 703/848-4339.

BY-LAWS APPROVED

At last we have approval for the updated by-laws – 75% of the homeowners have voted for approval. Copies will be mailed to homeowners in April. Our thanks to all who participated in the process.

TOT LOT IMPROVEMENTS

Legum & Norman has requested bids for the replacement of tot lot equipment. This will be an item for discussion at the Annual Meeting in September. The Board welcomes any input from users of the tot lot regarding what you would like to see in the way of improvements and new equipment. Please contact Sher Opal at Legum & Norman, or any Board member with comments and suggestions.

STAIRWELL IMPROVEMENTS PLANNED

An interior decorator has been hired to advise the Board on refurbishing the six stairwells in the multi-unit buildings. Refurbishment will include, wallpaper, paint, carpet, lighting and mailboxes. Look for updates on this project in future newsletters.

FAIRLINGTON WEB SITE

The Fairlington web site is up and running (www.fairlington.org) and we would like to participate by posting Fairlington Green information on the site. Anyone who is interested in maintaining the Green’s page should contact Sher Opal at Legum & Norman.

POOL PASSES

Pool pass applications will be mailed out in April. Please complete and return the form as quickly as possible.

LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE

We are still looking for a Landscape Committee Chair and members. This Committee will be responsible for working with the Board to plan community landscape needs within an allocated budget. Anyone interested in serving on the Landscape Committee should contact Juan Molina (703/820-1698).
