BACKGROUND

Arlington County has conducted over a year of community outreach related to the Residential Permit Parking Program and now is proposing changes related to who is eligible to participate in zoned parking, what areas may be zoned, how the program is managed and enforced, visitor passes and hours that zoned parking is in effect.

Before bringing these changes to the County Board for review and approval, County staff is seeking public input on their proposed recommendations. The County conducted a number of "Citizen Forums" on this topic during March (including one in Fairlington - see flyer and letter below):

LETTER FROM ARLINGTON COUNTY

Dear Resident:

As many of you are aware, Arlington County is undergoing a major review of its Residential Permit Parking program. County staff has conducted a community outreach process for over a year, and now is proposing improvements regarding issues such as who is eligible to participate in zoned parking, what areas may be zoned, how the program is managed and enforced, visitor passes, and hours that zoned parking is in effect. Before bringing these changes to the County Board for review and approval, County staff wants to hear directly from the public.

There will be a Citizen Forum on March 12th and Evening Community meetings on March 14, 15, 17, and 21. See the schedule below and the attached flyers in English and Spanish for details.
